Uniquely Gaudior Experiences

The Whole Child
Gaudior believes in educating the whole child. Activities have been created to allow our students to apply Gaudior's philosophy to real-world experiences.

Gaudior Night
Gaudior Night is an annual staged performance inspired by the current school "theme" for the year. Each level creates, designs and performs individual acts which generally include singing, dancing or some public speaking. Students are given great amounts of artistic creativity to fabricate their own costumes, stage props and backgrounds.

Fine Arts Night
Each child is expected to write and illustrate his/her own book, which is presented during Fine Arts Night. The students are involved in the entire book process; from drafting, to peer-editing, to illustrating and making the book cover. During this time, at least two pieces of artwork are also on display throughout the school.

Engineering Extravaganza
Every student participates in the design, building and presentation of an innovative machine based on the inventions of Rube Goldberg - a complicated, multi-stage device designed to perform a very simple task. Click here to read more!

8th Grade Graduation Requirements
In addition to the experiences above, every 8th grade student at Gaudior has special graduation requirements. Each grad student researches and presents a piece of artwork housed at the Detroit Institute of Arts, hosts and introduces Gaudior Night acts, and completes a formal, final graduation presentation.

My 7th grade daughter is learning so much. 8th grade at Gaudior is one of my favorite years. [The principal] requires a lot from the students, but it is worth it.
